Brent
Hoy joins the Band on Soprano from Woolston.
We
are thrilled to be able to announce that Brent has recently
moved to Wanganui from Christchurch.
Brent is a player of the highest calibre and experience, having
played soprano with the wonderful Woolston Band for many years.
He has also been a soprano player in a number of National Bands
of New Zealand. Brent will add tremendous depth to our cornet team.

Sadly
we announce the recent passing of a past player, Jack Ibell.
Jack was a wonderful cornet player, playing with both the two Wanganui
bands on a number of occasions over the years.
He was a member
of the National Bands of New Zealand in 1953 and 1962 and won the
Open Cornet Championship on several occasions.
Our condolences go to his family. |

The
Band presented a magnificent "Last Night of the Proms" concert
in the Royal Wanganui Opera House. This event was totally sold
out and was a triumph for both Producer Tony cowan and Musical
Director, Bruce Jellyman. The Band continues to go from strength
to strength.

The
Band won every event (bar the Presentation) at the Central Districts
Contest in New Plymouth. This, despite being under real pressure
from illnesses and having 5 players missing at the National Secondary
Schools' Band week.
